If you’ve been following the future of hemp-derived THC products, there’s an important update: the federal deadline has been pushed from November 12 to December 11, 2026.

The Senate recently approved a federal funding bill that includes a one-month extension, giving Congress more time to work on a long-term solution for the hemp industry.

The extension still needs to pass the House and be signed into law before it’s official. The underlying legislation would significantly change the federal definition of hemp, including new total-THC standards that could have a major impact on hemp-derived THC beverages.
